Gone are the days where you'll be toggling switches in a web app all day long, it's now more common for IT and DevOps to blend into one. With that comes a new learning curve, but it's not all bad news. CI/CD, or Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, allows you to automate repetitive tasks, saving time and effort. Using GitHub Actions as an example, I want to show you how CI/CD can help you as a Mac Admin.

In this talk, I'll give a brief overview of what Continuous Integration and Deployment are, and why you might want to learn more about them. I'll focus primarily on GitHub Actions and showcase how you can move workflows that might have run on a Mac mini on a desk into a distributed service. I'll also cover how you can begin to utilize CI/CD as an individual contributor or in your team, and provide some example workflows that you can use today.
