At the University of Virginia, ITS operates as a decentralized IT resource. We manage Jamf services, provide support and develop workflows for common UVA situations. Site administrators act autonomously; we provide tools for them to use, or they are free to build their own. We wanted to make a workflow that was so easy-to-use that it made more sense for site admins to use it than build their own, keeping everyone on the same page with known good resources.

This presentation shows some of the ways we used the Jamf API and Self Service to create a curated list of ready-to-deploy policies, configuration profiles, smart groups and advanced searches so complete workflows can be copied to each site to then be edited and scoped by each individual site admin.
